Details: Once again, we bring to you Technovanza, VJTI’s eagerly awaited technical festival. As ever, Technovanza promises all visitors and participants a plethora of competitions and exhibits specially designed by VJTI students.

Technology has no doubt generated utmost comfort and leisure for the human society. But at what cost? We are no strangers to global warming, pollution, deforestation and a multitude of other adverse effects. Unless technology is exercised with forbearance and wisdom, self annihilation is not that far away. As engineers, driven by our passion for newer, faster machines or software, we have taken very long to become conscious of this fact. But now that we have, in the true VJTI spirit we plan to take some steps to inhibit the damage and make technology work for lasting good.

Technovanza2010 will adhere to the theme “Taking Technology to Society”. Barring a few inventions that instantly become a fixture in most homes, technological advances remain largely recondite. Technovanza2010 will aim to bridge this crevasse by a host of projects like Domotique and Amphi Train to mention a few.

As part of our mission to bring technology closer to nature, VJTI will host, for the first time Nivritti, a conference that will see a three day interaction between delegations from eminent NGOs and industries with green proclivities. In addition, student delegates from prominent institutes will be invited to take part in the conference.

Another unique feature of Technovanza2010 is the Rubik’s Cube Mumbai Open in connection with the World Cube Association held for the first time ever in Mumbai which promises to be a treat for Rubik’s Cube enthusiasts all around Mumbai.

To robotics aficionados, budding entrepreneurs and anyone looking to hone their coding skills Technovanza2010 brings an assortment of new and all time popular events. Workshops will be held on topics as varied as Ethical Hacking, 3D Animation, Movie-Making and Photography. Lectures and seminars too will be conducted all through. In the past years, our association with the corporate world has grown steadily through events such as I^3. We hope to keep up this relationship and strengthen it every year.

Details: Biotechcellence (BTX) 2010, a national level symposium organized by the Association of Biotechnologists, Centre for Biotechnology (CBT), has been the launch pad for many budding scientists, from across the country. An interesting outcome of BTX, is the part it plays in making entrepreneurs out of students. Details: Symphony, is the annual inter collegiate cultural festival of K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering. Held at the beginning of February every year, Symphony attracts a crowd of 15,000 students from 150 colleges all over the city. Competitions at Symphony encompass a wide range of genres, including Music, Dramatics, Literary, Arts, Dance and Fine Arts.Every year, variety is introduced in the competitions, posing a challenge for the competitors, and providing a refreshing change for the audience. This festival has progressed by leaps and bounds over the years with 50 odd events being organized in just two days.

Pronites at Symphony perhaps steal the show with the festival boasting of a guest history like Bombay Vikings, Rahul Vaidya, Parikrama, Strings, Euphoria, Dj Suketu, Louis Banks and many more.

Symphony 2010 plans to venture into an even bigger arena,planning to pull in many more with the Laser show arranged for the first day. Our theme for this year is ' Emotions & Expressions '.
